Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 8, 2026
This policy explains what information Threefold Interactive LLC ("Threefold Interactive", "we", "us") collects, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. It covers this website and any games or applications we publish.
The short version
We don't sell your personal information and we don't run ads. Right now Broken Divide collects almost nothing: saves and achievements go through Steam, and the game runs no analytics and no crash reporting. If that changes, this page changes first.
Information we collect
Information you give us directly. If you email or call us, we receive whatever you choose to send — your email address, phone number, and the contents of your message. We keep that correspondence so we can follow up on it.
Information collected automatically on this website. This site is a set of static pages hosted on GitHub Pages. We do not run analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies on it. GitHub, as our hosting provider, may log standard technical request data such as IP addresses; see GitHub's Privacy Statement for how they handle it.
Information collected by Broken Divide. The game leans on Steam's platform features rather than systems of our own:
- Saved games are stored through Steam Cloud so your progress follows you between machines. Valve holds those files — we don't receive or keep a copy.
- Achievements are recorded through Steam. We can see how many players have unlocked each one, which tells us nothing about you individually.
- Rift scores are posted to a Steam leaderboard. Leaderboards are public — see below.
- A record of your rift run is written to a text file, saved to Steam Cloud, and sent to a private channel on our Discord server so we can check that high scores are legitimate. It describes the run itself — your score, your party, and how the run played out.
Rift leaderboards are launching shortly. Until they do, no rift scores or run records are being collected.
Broken Divide does not run analytics, does not send us crash reports, and does not track how you play outside of a rift run. It never asks for your name, address, or payment details — your purchase is handled entirely by Steam, and we never see your payment information.
What other players can see
Rift leaderboards are public. That's the point of them — but it means your score, and the Steam persona name attached to your account, can be seen by other players. You can change the name Steam displays at any time in your Steam profile settings, and you don't have to submit a rift run at all.
The run records sent to Discord go to a private channel that only we can read. They are not posted publicly.
Features that aren't live yet
Asynchronous raids are planned but not running. When they launch they will upload the damage you contribute to a raid boss. We'll update this policy before that happens, so what you're reading always matches what the game actually does.
Third-party services
Valve Corporation (Steam). Broken Divide is distributed through Steam and uses Steam's platform features for sign-in, achievements, and cloud saves. What Valve does with your information is covered by Valve's Privacy Policy.
Discord Inc. Rift run records are delivered to a private channel on our Discord server, which means they pass through and are stored on Discord's systems. What Discord does with that is covered by Discord's Privacy Policy.
Nothing else. We don't embed analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or attribution services in our games. If we add any, we'll name the provider here and link its privacy policy before we turn it on.
How we use information
- To run rift leaderboards and check that high scores are legitimate
- To respond to questions, support requests, and business inquiries
- To fix bugs people report to us
- To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations
We do not sell or rent personal information, we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
How long we keep it
Your saved games live in your Steam account for as long as you keep them, under Valve's retention rules rather than ours. The same goes for rift scores on a Steam leaderboard, which stay up for as long as that leaderboard runs.
Run records in our Discord channel are kept while they're useful for verifying scores, and deleted when they aren't.
We keep correspondence for as long as it's useful for support and business records, and then delete it. Where the law requires us to retain records — tax and payment records, for example — we keep them for the period required and no longer.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access a copy of your personal information, correct it, delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, or ask us to transfer it. Residents of the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom have these rights under the GDPR; California residents have comparable rights under the CCPA and CPRA, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.
To exercise any of these, email admin@threefoldinteractive.com. We'll respond within 30 days. See our data deletion instructions for the fastest route to a deletion request.
Worth knowing where things live. Your saved games sit in your Steam account, so deleting those is done through Steam rather than by asking us. What we can delete is your run records from our Discord channel and any correspondence you've sent us, and we can remove your entry from a rift leaderboard if you ask.
Children
Our website and games are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security — but we limit what we collect, which limits what can be exposed.
International transfers
We operate in the United States. If you contact us from outside the US, the information you send will be processed in the US, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when our practices change and revise the "last updated" date above. Material changes — particularly any new collection of personal information — will be posted here before they take effect.
